KCSA & IMAA Offer MSHA Virtual Contractor Workshop- Wednesday, October 14, 2020
The Kentucky Crushed Stone Association and Indiana Mineral Aggregates Association are pleased to announce an MSHA webinar entitled “Contractors On Mine Property”. The webinar will be led by Paul Cook, CMSP from MSHA EFSMS will be presenting this useful and critical information. This Webinar is for Mine Operators, Mine Managers, Supervisors, Safety Managers or any mine personnel who have Contractors who provide a service on mine properties. The program is also intended for Contractors, owners, supervisors, and safety managers who provide those mine site services. The program is intended to educate both the mine operator and contractors concerning MSHA regulations and compliance and is not necessarily intended for hourly employees.
This is a free webinar that is being hosted by the two aggregate associations.

Abstract: This is an outreach effort for both contractors and mine management to fully understand their responsibilities. Paul Cook, MSHA EFSMS, developed training several years ago. Now he is offering greater outreach by putting together a 2.5 hour long webinar crammed with information such as mine management responsibilities, Part 46 Training, Part B training, Task Training, Annual Refresher Training, Workplace Examinations, Pre-Op Inspections, Electrical, Confined Space, Pre-bid meetings, etc. He references a few court cases as well.
Audience: The program is for Metal Non-Metal mine managers, mine employees who are in contact with contractors and the contractors themselves to educate and aid with their MSHA compliance. (The program is not necessarily for hourly mine employees). It does not fulfill any Part 46 or Part 48 Training requirements.
