Education and Workforce Development & Marketing / PR Committees:
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (joint lunch following meeting from 12:00 – 12:45 p.m.)
Who Should Attend: Committee members and members of the association who have a focus in these areas and/or would like to learn more about the association's initiatives.
Meeting content:
- Marketing/Public Relations – We have several new things and need help from this committee:
- Economic Impact Study results – the crushed stone industry is a $2 billion dollar industry.
- We have the data and need a strategy on the deliverables to the present to the industry.
- How can this information be packaged.
- Education & Workforce Development
- Workforce challenges - a discussion on the associations activities and broad scope of what the industry is doing to achieve the hiring and retention goals.
- Rock Jobs – this is a new initiative for the association based on continued workforce efforts,
- Banners -banners in Community Technical Centers, our current footprint in the state.

Joint Lunch – Morning and Afternoon Meeting Attendees
Time: 12:00 p.m. – 12:45 p.m. (Join lunch with both committees)
Who Should Attend: Anyone that is planning to attend either meeting is welcome for lunch. This is a great opportunity to network with your industry peers.

Health, Safety and Environment Committee
Time: 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. (Lunch prior to meeting from 12:00 – 12:45 p.m.)
Who Should Attend: Members who work in the environmental permitting space or want to know more about the association's activities with the state agency.
Meeting Content: This meeting will share updates on the association's activities related to environmental challenges and what we are doing to support the membership. It will also serve as an educational opportunity to learn more about some of the recent legislation that was passed in the 2025 legislative session that could benefit our challenges.
Guest Speakers:
- Jason Bentley, MML&K
- Jason Bentley has worked as an attorney and registered lobbyist for MML&K Government Solutions since 2005, where he maintains an energy and regulatory practice. He previously served as majority counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Energy & Commerce, where he worked for three successive Chairmen. While on the Committee, Jason was responsible for developing significant provisions in the Barton-Domenici Energy Policy Act of 2005. Jason returned to his native Kentucky, first as General Counsel and Policy Advisor to the Kentucky Public Service Commission, and then as Executive Director of the Kentucky Office of Energy Policy. He has served as the Governor’s alternate on the Southern States Energy Board and chaired the annual SSEB meeting at the 2005 conference of the Southern Governors’ Association. Jason earned a bachelor’s degree from Centre College in 1994 and dual degrees in law and environmental law from Vermont Law School in 1999. In 1998, Jason was a visiting scholar with the Development Law Service of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome, Italy, and previously served as Kentucky’s Single Point of Contact (SPOC) to the U.S. Trade Representative.
