Requalification Exam:

Requalification Exam: This exam is for those who currently hold an Aggregate Technician Certification which will expire by December 2024 and who desire to be qualified for an additional five years. Participants who fail the exam must successfully complete the 2 1/2 day Aggregate Technician course to maintain their qualification.

Sampling Technician Courses:

Sampling Technicians: This class is for those who need to be qualified to perform sampling of aggregates, but who do not need to be qualified to perform testing of aggregate samples.

KATP PROGRAM REGISTRATION GUIDELINES 

The following registration guidelines must be maintained in order to properly administer the KATP program and allow for its continued operation. 

  • Courses are offered provided that the minimum number of course applicants have registered for each class. 
  • Registration Form must be filled out completely. 
  • Registration and payment for program applicants must be received before admittance to the course. The state will be billed for all state employees. 
  • Cancellations must be made at least 3 days prior to class for refunds.  Substitutions can always be made if needed.
  • Registrations received late will be placed in classes based on availability. All applications are time/date stamped and classes are filled as they are received. Preferences of applicants may not be available. Apply early if a strong preference for a particular course/location
  • Applicants will be emailed a confirmation with driving directions, lodging information etc. after the registration form and payment is received—approximately 2 weeks prior to the class date. 
  • Course manuals will be mailed to requalification exam registrants only. Other courses will have manuals presented at the class by the instructors. An on-line version is posted to the KCSA website (www.kycsa.org) for prior examination. 

TRAINING MANUAL

Below are sections of the Qualified Aggregate Technician Program manual. Portions of the AASHTO and ASTM standards could not be reproduced because of copywrite restrictions. Those sections will be in the hard-copy manual you receive at your class/test location.
